Student Mentor Program @ VITAM
The Student Mentor Program is launched at VITAM form the Academic Year 2009-10 with a view to offer a student (undergraduate and post-graduate) at the Institute a mechanism to interface with the real world. The interface is required in many fronts. The following are some areas where the Student Mentoring Program are playing critical roles: (*) Welcoming and orientating students, especially the new ones, (*) Enforcing the Anti-ragging rules and regulations, (*) Guiding students on Life at the VITAM Campus, (*) Offering Career & placement Guidance to students, (*) Planning the return and association of students at the end of the semester, In essence, the Student Mentor Program recognizes all aspects of human issues that are otherwise not addressed by the VITAM. The Student Mentor Program is run by volunteer participation of selected students and faculty members of the Institute. Faculty Mentors meet the sets of students together for specified hour at least once in the week during the starting of Semester and later as per the need raised. Faculty Mentors develops a cordial environment for the new students and make possible a smooth transition to life on VITAM campus. Periodical feedback and suggestions are collected from all the stake holders of the Institute in objective to provide a better and disciplined learning environment to all the students.
