ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
Established in 2008 with an initial intake of 60 students, the Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETC). The department boasts a team of qualified, young, and dynamic faculty members, many of whom are specialists in various domains of electronics and communication engineering and are alumni of reputed institutions.
Supported by well-trained laboratory staff and technicians, the department is dedicated to the holistic development of students—academically, technically, and personally. In addition to the prescribed curriculum, the department organizes a wide range of seminars, workshops, and training programs that allow students to explore advanced topics such as Internet of Things (IoT), Optical Fiber Communication, Embedded Systems, Robotics, Satellite Communication, and HDL Programming.
With a strong commitment to innovation and technological advancement, the department continually promotes skill-based learning through collaboration, guidance, and mentorship. To further enrich the technical learning experience, the department has also established an IETE Students’ Forum, offering students a platform to enhance their technical competencies and stay abreast of the latest developments in the field.
Research Areas
Department of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, being one of the core department in VITAM, is actively engaged in research activities and publications. Presently, some of the broader research areas of the department are:

Beyond Academics
In line with VITAM’s vision of all-round student development, the department encourages active participation in social outreach programs, cultural events, and sports activities. With continuous support from faculty mentors, students have formed a departmental club that voluntarily contributes to social welfare and community initiatives.
The department also upholds a tradition of organizing inter-departmental and institute-level cultural activities, promoting teamwork, leadership, and creativity among students.
Students of the department have demonstrated excellence beyond academics, securing numerous awards and accolades in various competitions. The Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department has proudly won the VITAM Cricket Championship Trophy, and students have brought several laurels from other institutes, reinforcing the department’s commitment to excellence in every sphere.
